Ronald Darrell Armstrong, a distinguished Aerospace Design Engineer, gracefully departed on his final voyage to be united with the divine on April 15, 2024. Born on July 12, 1962, in Creswell, Oregon, he lived a life intertwined with the skies and the seas. Ron's journey began as a graduate of Fontana High School in California, paving the way for a remarkable career that left an indelible mark on the aerospace industry.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Ron found solace and joy in various hobbies and interests, including captaining sailing charters, navigating the vast waters of the Pacific Ocean, excelling as a pilot, and serenading others with his guitar melodies. His adventurous spirit and passion for exploration were evident in all aspects of his life.
Notably, Ron proudly served as a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer, showcasing his dedication to service and maritime expertise. His commitment to excellence extended beyond his military service into every endeavor he pursued.
Among his proudest accomplishments was overcoming significant health challenges by surviving a life-saving liver transplant. This incredible feat afforded him nine precious years to create lasting memories and share invaluable moments with his beloved son, Ronald Diego Armstrong.
Ron will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his loving father Darrell Earl Armstrong and wife Willma, his devoted mother Donna Martin, his cherished son Ronald Diego Armstrong, his dear sister Karrie Armstrong, and his brother Todd Armstrong and wife Elizabeth. Additionally, Ron leaves behind his loyal "fur-son," Scout, who brought him immeasurable comfort and companionship.
In the words of those who knew him best: "God is the wind. Faith is the sail. You are the vessel. May you be blessed with smooth sailing to your eternal home.” Ron left on his final adventure last week to be with God. He touched so many lives throughout the years. He will truly be missed.
