Roland Murphy, 72, of Gulfport died Saturday, March 17, 2007 in Gulfport.
Mr. Murphy was born in Mt. Olive, MS but lived most of his life on the coast. He retired as an office manager after 34 years of service from Entex, now Center Point Energy. He was a member of Gulf Haven Mennonite Church and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and anything outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Murphy, Gulfport, his children, Richard Perkins and his wife Judy, Lake Limestone, TX, Michael R. Murphy and his wife Marie, Houston, TX, and Mary Ann Murphy and her husband David Settle, Highlands, TX, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial sevice will be held at 7 pm Monday, March 19, 2007 at Gulf Haven Mennonite Church. Friends may visit 30 minutes prior to the service and a time of fellowship will be held immediately after the memorial service in the church fellowship hall.
