Captian Roger Dale Tomasich, Sr., age 68 of Kiln was born on July 15, 1951 and passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Oschner Medical Center in Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his father, Warren J. Tomasich; his mother, Zelma Bennett; his brothers, Robert Tomasich (Bonnie), Gary Tomasich, Wayne Tomasich, and Ray Allen Tomasich; sister, Mary Verdin (Melvin); and daughter, Star Tomasich.
Roger is survived by his son, Roger (Kerrie) Tomasich; daughter, Dedra LaShawn (Al) Wilson; and their mother, Kathy Woolhiser; granddaughters, Chasiety Tomasich (Clarence) Gros, Karlie Tomasich and Harlie Tomasich; great grandsons, Sebastian Gros and Samuel Gros; step granddaughters, Kasey Wilson and Kallie Wilson; step grandsons, Al Wilson, II, Dillan Malley, Dalton Malley, Dallas Malley; and 6 step great grandchildren; his longtime companion, Bettye Joyce Green; step children, Lamar Frederick, Jr. (Shondail), Theresa Lucille Moran, Lillian Rester (Bert), Lila Necaise (Vincent), Lisa Ladner (Russell Necaise); 18 step grandchildren; 18 step great grandchildren; brothers, Henry A. Tomasich (Mardell) and Raymond Tomasich (Sandra); sister, Joann Ladner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Captain Roger Dale Tomasich, Sr. was a lifelong oysterman that loved being on the water. He made lifelong friends that will forever remember him for his giving heart and infectious laugh. Come wind, rain, cold or heat he was riding out.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, from 6-9pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd., Pass Christian and the funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 10am in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Standard Sandhill Cemetery, Kiln, MS.
