Roger Perkins

Roger Dale Perkins, age 72, of the Dedeaux Community, passed away on November 5, 2020 in Gulfport, MS.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Hildon and Ittia Perkins; sister, Anna Faye Galjour; sister-in-law, Zelma Perkins; and granddaughter, Baby Perkins.

He is survived by his sons, Vincent, Anthony (Lora), Jeffery (Mignon), and Casey (Bridget) Perkins; siblings, Ulysses ML Perkins (Rita) and Hayward Perkins; grandchildren, Justin (JoAnna), Riley, Ashlyn, Gavin, Koby and Makinley Perkins; great-grandchild, Vivien Perkins; mother of Roger's sons, Sherry-Ann; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Roger was born in Hancock County, a graduate of Hancock County High School and a lifelong resident of Dedeaux. He worked as a machine operator for Alcan Cable for 16 years and was a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church. Roger was a devoted father, Papa, brother, uncle and friend. He was a very compassionate man, was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone and will be remembered for his kind heart. He enjoyed the great outdoors, had a passion for coon-hunting and loved bringing his four boys along for the hunt. He looked forward to spending the weekends camping on the river with his kids and family and he enjoyed fishing. He also loved raising and tending to his rabbits and chickens. Roger was also a great cook. He enjoyed cooking for everyone and if you went to his house for a visit, you were not leaving hungry. Rogers legacy will live on forever.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020 at 21483 Deerwood Rd. Kiln, MS 39556, starting at 5:00 PM and continuing overnight. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Standard Sandhill Cemetery, officated by Bro. Josh Daniels.
