Roger Williams Jordan, Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully at his home on August 31, 2018 in Diamondhead, Mississippi. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and is preceded in death by his parents, John S. Jordan, Jr. and Lolita Jacobs Jordan.
He is survived by his children, Jeanine Hendrickson, Roger W. Jordan, Jr., John S. Jordan, III, Jacey Jordan Prince, Webb Jay IV, Jacobs Harris Jordan; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Lou Janoe.
He attended St. John's Military Academy in Wisconsin, where he was a letterman on the row team, football team and track team. He also attended the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee and was a graduate of LSU Law School.
He served his country honorably both as a fighter pilot and flight instructor for the United States Air Force. He retired as a Major from the Air Force after a service related injury grounded him forever. He defied all odds of ever walking again and within a year was back on his feet starting the next chapter of his life with that same fighting spirit as a trial lawyer. He loved to sail his beloved yacht "The Yoldash" (friendly companion), in Lake Pontchartrain where he would experience some (but not all) of the freedom and exhilaration he felt flying Mach speed solo through the clouds. He lived bigger than life and will be forever missed by his family and friends.
