Roderick "Rodney" Reid Beecher, age 82, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi.
Mr. Beecher was born January 14, 1939, in Springfield, PA. He retired as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He attended The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of Gulfport, MS. He was a member of the Square Dance Clubs, Belles & Bouys of Gulfport and Magnolia Swingers of Ocean Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Elizabeth Beecher and Calvin Beecher; and his daughter, Renee Beecher. Survivors include his wife, Marian Cooley-Beecher (married August 9, 2018); son, Bryan Beecher of Ocean Springs; 2 daughters, Teresa Powell of Biloxi and Shawn Westbrook of Cataula, GA; brother, Bob Beecher of Nelsonville, OH; sister, Sondra Duncan of Homboldt, AZ; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several stepchildren and other loving family members and friends.
Friends are invited to join the Beecher family for visitation on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. at Washington Ave., West Jackson County. On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, visitation will continue at the funeral home from 11:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m.
Mr. Beecher will be laid to rest at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors rendered by the U.S. Air Force. Pallbearers will be Tom Baker, Robert Cooley, Jr., Billy Molton, Eric Brown, Patrick Beecher and Grant Westbrook, and Honorary Pallbearer, Nathan Bignell.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to St. Jude's Children Research Center in Memphis Tennessee.
