Rochelle Jones

Rochelle Sondra “Shelly” Jones, age 81 of Pass Christian, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hy and Ester Freeman; and a brother, Earl Freeman.

Rochelle is survived by her husband of 63 years, Donald W. Jones; her children, Shari (Bob), Judi (Michael) Doug (Kim,) Heidi (Tom) and Amy (Bill); Grandchildren, Jason (Rene), Jean (Bill), Andria (James), Valerie (John), Kyle (Erika), Kayla (Jeremy), Tyler, Trey, Cooper, Case, Drake, Devon and Nate; great-grandchildren, Landin, Lily, Lia, Lucy, Jack, Kayleigh, Daniel, Rory, Laney, and baby boy Mac, coming in 2021.

Shelly is a native of Detroit, Michigan where she attended Mumford high school in Detroit. She worked for the Ferndale school district. She also volunteered and helped organize Open Classroom for Ferndale schools. She was a full time RV’er, loved nature, enjoyed hiking, playing games, reading, and playing with her grandkids.

Their legacy of love grew our family tree with strong roots. It has culminated in a combined 208 years of marriage among them and their five children, It has blossomed and continues to grow.
