Robert Wesley “Chip” Peaks, Jr., age 61, of Gulfport, passed away on September 26, 2020.
Chip was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Helen Fuentes Peaks; and his father-in-law, Steve Fuentes.
He is survived by his parents, Robert W. “Bob” Peaks, Sr. and Betty Collins Peaks; a sister, Nancilee Wolfe (Ken); mother-in-law, Maria “BoBo” Fuentes; sister-in-law, Virginia Overstreet (James); nephews, Kent Alexander, Stephen (Alpha) Feagins and T.J. Benefield; nieces, Alden Johnson (Michael)and Hope Peaks; great-nephews, Barrier Johnson and Wesley Johnson; and a great-niece, Naomi Johnson.
He was a graduate of Woodhaven High School, Pensacola, FL, and the University of Southern Mississippi. Chip earned his master’s degree in Psychology and retired after a career as a LCSW. He was a talented musician having performed with Gulfport Municipal Band and Stardusters Orchestra. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a graveside service at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Knights of Columbus Council 7910 c/o St. Joseph Catholic Church, 12290 Depew Road, Gulfport, MS 39503.
