Roberta "Bobbie" Hicks

Roberta “Bobbie” Robinson Hicks passed away peacefully with family at her side and joined Jesus on Friday, April 22, 2022, at the age of 81.

Bobbie was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost.  She was a member of Conyers First United Methodist Church, a Stephen Minister and Sunday school teacher.  She graduated with honors from Tift College and obtained her master’s degree at the University of Florida.  Bobbie was a retired English, Latin, and Gifted Program teacher, and a member of Rockdale Retired Educators.  She was a former president of the Master Gardeners, loved to quilt, and cherished all of her family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Laura Robinson.

Bobbie is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Wayne Robinson (Mary Ann); her children, Bert Hicks (Gina) and Laura Smith (Mike); her grandchildren, Taylor Williams, Robert Hicks (Shawna), Michael Smith, Jr. (Darby), Audrey Hicks, Ellie Hicks, Keith Kalka, Jr., Grace Kalka, Kade Kalka; great grandchildren, Leo and Sullivan; nieces, Nicole Valentine, Christy Bellamy, Kim Schaff; and six great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Conyers First United Methodist Church (building fund) at conyersfirst.org .

A service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at Conyers First United Methodist Church, with a reception to follow.
