Roberta Ann Sherman Glover Nickson, passed away on April 11, 2024, at her home in Vancleave, Mississippi, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion. She was born on August 27, 1943, in Keene, New Hampshire, to Vincent and Marion Sherman.
Throughout her life, Roberta dedicated herself to making a difference in the lives of others. She graduated from Keene High School in 1960 and went on to work as a volunteer in Special Education at St. Martin East in the late 1970s. Her commitment to helping those in need extended beyond her professional life into her personal interests.
Roberta had a deep love for nature and was an avid bird watcher. She was a proud member of the Nature Conservancy and the Backyard Birders Association. In her quiet moments, she found solace in reading and listening to audio books. However, above all else, Roberta cherished spending time with her beloved family.
Roberta is survived by her loving children Donna M. Keebler; Leroy M. Glover, Claudia Ferry; her grandchildren Christopher G. (Angelina) Glover, LaDonna (Mike) Russum, Dana Aaron (LaShay) Lofland,Toni Lovett, Susan (Justin) Gajan, Christopher R. Glover. Her great-grandchildren Destany (Dustin Church) Glover, MiKayla (Roxy) Russum, Riley Russum, Skylar Lofland, London Lofland, Braydon Lofland, Zayden Lofland, Estavan Villaneuva, Angelina Villaneuva, Milan Tran, Juliet Gajan, Steffan Gajan and her great-great-granddaughter Delilah Dawn Marie Church. She is survived by her sisters Vicky Forcier, Sandy Sherman and Lynne Blackson and a brother Vincent (Pete) Sherman. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her husband Warren Nickson; a daughter Kelly J. Glover; her parents Vincent and Marion Sherman and a brother Stanley Sherman.
Roberta's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by her family and friends as they reflect on the love and warmth she shared with everyone around her.
May she rest in peace knowing that she has left an indelible mark on all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She was a true believer in "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". She is loved by all that were lucky enough to know her and will be deeply missed. Her home was a safe haven for those in need. She was the giver of advice when asked. For our family she was 'True North' and our constant.
