Robert Dean Whitaker

Robert Dean Whitaker, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in Kiln, Mississippi, at the age of 87. He was born on August 1, 1936, in Jackson Michigan, to the late Glen and Frances (nee Roberts) Whitaker.

Robert honorably served his country as a dedicated member of the US Air Force, where he reached the rank of Staff Sergeant. His commitment to his military service was a testament to his unwavering loyalty and sense of duty.

Outside of his military career, Robert found joy in various hobbies and interests. He was an active member of the Coastal Stamp Club, finding solace and delight in his stamp collecting pursuits. Additionally, he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints.

Robert will be deeply missed by four sons Robert (Charlene) Whitaker, Randy (Robin) Whitaker, Russell Whitaker, and Richard Whitaker. Nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  His three brothers Dale, David and Tom, as well as a sister Rosie.   Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  Although he has left this world, Robert's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife Sharron Whitaker, his son Craig Whitaker, his parents, three brother Ron, Jerry and Jim, two sister Joyce and Elaine.  

In honoring Robert's life and legacy, let us remember him for his kindness, dedication, and love for his family. May he rest in eternal peace knowing that he was cherished by many.
