Robert C. Watkins

Robert C. ""Pop"" Watkins, age 69, of Helena, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in Pascagoula.
Mr. Watkins lived most of his life in the Helena community and attended Moss Point High School. He entered the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and after his discharge began working at the Moss Point Police Dept. He later joined Standard Oil Company and retired from Chevron Oil Refinery as a Senior Mechanical Equipment Technologist. Following retirement, Robert worked as a consultant with several companies. He was a member of the Helena Presbyterian Church, member and Finance Officer of The American Legion Post 160, Pascagoula, and served as King Jolly 1997 of the Krewe of Tri-Cities. Robert was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Marguerite Gordon Watkins, a sister, Dorothy Southern, and a brother, Lee Watkins, Jr.
Survivors include his loving wife, Amelda Watkins, his children, Kim Watkins Green and her husband Ricky, Wayne Watkins and his wife, Chris, Cindy Watkins Baggett and her husband Robbie, and Julie C. Watkins, 2 sisters, Elizabeth Ferguson and her husband, Sid, and Fausta Little, and her husband Hunter, 8 grandchildren, Chad Green, Brie' Ann Story and her husband Greg, Brittney Baggett, Samantha Baggett, Reagan Watkins, Wesleigh Watkins, Wyatt Watkins, and Rhett Watkins, special nephew Hunter Watkins, special brother-in-law, Eddie Watts numerous other relatives and close friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 9 am - 12 noon at the Helena Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will begin at noon in the church sanctuary.
