Robert H. Warren, retired Air Force Master Sergeant, age 71, of Biloxi, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in Jefferson, Louisiana.
Mr. Warren was born in Forest, MS, grew up in Morton, MS, and was a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 1971. He retired after 21 years in the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Warren was a photographer for 17 years, and was a training instructor at Keesler for his last three years.
While in the Air Force, Sgt. Warren was stationed at Chitose A.B., Japan; Shaw A. F. Base, Sumpter, SC; Greenville A. F. Base, Greenville, MS; Brooks A. F. Base, San Antonio, Texas; Wiesbaden A. F. Base in Germany; Berstrom A. F. Base, Austin, Texas; Tan-Sun-Nhut A. F. Base, Vietnam; Chanute A. F. Base, Illinois; and Keesler A. F. Base, Biloxi.
During his many years of service, he received the National Defense Medal, Marksmanship Medal, Good Conduct Medal with four clusters, Outstanding Unit Award, Longevity Award, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Commendation Medal, Saving """"The Air Force Money Suggestion Award""""; and the Bronze Star for meritorious service while participating in a combat zone.
Sgt. Warren participated for three months in """"Operation Dominic"""" during the Pacific Atomic Bomb tests in 1962.
He was a member of the North Bay VFW Post 6731 and a member of Popp's Ferry Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Nethel Warren, of Morton, MS, and a granddaughter, Kristen M. Warren, of Petal, MS.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ellie Mae Phillips Warren, of Biloxi; one son, James Robert Warren and wife, Kathleen, of Petal; one daughter, Sherri Jo Seymour and husband, Scott, of D'Iberville, MS; grandchildren, Matthew Robert Warren, Russell Tyler Warren, Christopher James Warren, all of Petal; Jerika Sheree Seymour, and Kelli Michelle Seymour, both of D'Iberville; and one sister, Hilda Jean Beasley and husband, James G. Beasley, of La Vernia, Texas
Robert, a good and faithful husband, the always dependable father and friend, will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
The family would like to thank all the neighbors, friends, and fellow church members for their love and support.
Visitation will be at THE RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, on Friday, November 16, 2007, from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Biloxi.
