Robert Smith

Mr. Robert Arnold Smith, age 70, resident of Gulfport, died Saturday, May 3, 2008, in Gulfport.
Mr. Smith was a lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast, served 14 years in the MS National Guard, and was a member of Morris Hill Baptist Church in Saucier. He retired from Crown Zellebach Treated Wood Products in Gulfport after 21 years of service. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, but his greatest love was his role as paw-paw. He will be remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dave Soloman and Virginia Mae Smith; sisters, Thelma Marie, Irene Smith, and Wynetta Entrekin; brothers, Russell Smith, Edlyton Smith, and Howard Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Shirley Smith of Gulfport; children, Dwayne (Beth) Busby, Willis """"Buddy"""" (Mary) Busby, and Johnny (Teresa) Busby, all of Vancleave, Janet (David) Melvin of Perkinston, Marie Waller of Saucier, and Alicia Busby of Vancleave; brothers, Herbert Smith of Ocean Springs, and Lloyd Smith of Gulfport; a special niece, Judy Gibbs of O'Fallon, IL; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2008, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2008, at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Free Church of God Cemetery in Gulfport.
