Robert Roy

Robert Earl Roy born in New Orleans, LA, December 23, 1944, died peacefully in his sleep at his Saucier, MS home, surrounded by his family on January 2, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Adelyn Icard, of New Orleans; and his parents, Lawrence and Adelyn Roy of Labadieville, LA.

Roy is survived by his partner, Martha Delahoussaye Harvey; his children, Jennifer Roy and Rob Roy (Hannah); his grandchildren, Jordan Roy, Jude Roy, and Lilith Roy; his brothers, Andrew Roy of Thibodaux, LA, and Glenn Roy of Houma, LA; his sister, Sandra Bolette of Labadieville, LA; his former wife and mother of his children, Mary Madere Roy of Poplarville, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

After graduation Robert worked as a printer at various printing companies in Baton Rouge and New Orleans before finding his home at Harland Printing Company where he retired after 35 plus years of service. He was known to love concerts, music, guns, hunting, war history, trains, cars, red beans and rice and gumbo. Besides his family he also loved his circle of friends from his proud Alma Mater, Louisiana School for the Deaf, where he graduated in 1964 as well as all things LSU – Geaux Tigers!

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00-2:00pm, Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, funeral service will begin at 2:00pm.
