Robert G. Record

Robert G. Record Jr., 84, passed away on 27-Feb-2012 in Fort Mill, SC. He was a decorated veteran of WWII, Korea, & Vietnam. He had a distinguished military career and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. He is survived by his children, Wayne, Bruce, Nanette, Jeanine, and Timothy and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was caring & generous and impacted many lives. When you remember him, remember his smile. He was father, a husband, and a friend. We will miss him.
Robert had a passion for knowledge. While in his 70's, he returned to college at the University of Southern Mississippi and received a Masters of Arts degree. At just 3 days shy of his 85th birthday, he was attending Winthrop College pursuing a second Masters degree.
A long term resident of Gulfport, Mississippi, he served in the Air Force, Navy, and Army Reserves. His combined service was over 35 years. Upon his retirement, he settled in Gulfport and became a businessman and a policeman for the Gulfport police department.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 1, 2012 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road East, Fort Mill, SC 29715. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS. Burial with full military honors will be Monday, March 5, 2012 at 10:00 am at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS where Mr. Record will be buried next to his wife Julienne.
