Robert """"Robby"""" G. Pierce, III died on Monday, September 14, 2009, at Biloxi Regional Hospital in Biloxi, MS.
Mr. Pierce was a lifetime resident of the Gulf Coast, where he lived with his sister, JoAnn E. Pierce, and niece, Christina Skadowski.
He was 59, and had been a mobile welder, working shut down in coastal waters and a Jack-of-all-trades. Robert attended St. John's Catholic School, where he won the hearts of all his teachers and was soon known as """"Charlie Brown"""". He always had that way of charming you, drawing you in, and making you feel it was good to be alive.
Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by his father, Robert G. Pierce II; his mother, Dorothy L. Saucier Pierce, both of Gulfport; his two brothers, James R. Pierce of Biloxi and John R. Pierce of Gulfport and one nephew, Patrick E. Murphy, Jr. of Gulfport.
He is survived by his son, Robert """"Rory"""" G. Pierce IV; his daughter, Delaney A. Pierce; Johanna Brower, mother of his children, all of Texas; three sisters, Celice P. Murphy of Long Beach, JoAnn E. Pierce of Gulfport, Denise M. Broadus (Faron) of Saucier; three nephews, Zachary R. Murphy and M. Keith Broadus, both of Meridian, and F. Chase Broadus of Saucier; three nieces, Jennifer D. Murphy of Long Beach, Christina L. Skadowski of Gulfport, and Tiffany Pierce of Long Beach; a great niece, Judith Smith of Long Beach; and two great nephews, Gerald Young and Johnny Bergeron, both of Long Beach.
He is loved by all and greatly missed. Ride In Peace, Robby.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, September 18, 2009 at Mr. Pierces's Residence. The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
