Robert "Bob" George Olson, age 82, of Gulfport, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019.
Born on September 3, 1936, Bob grew up in Rhode Island and served in the Army for three years. His true home and the place he loved the most was Gulfport, Mississippi where he lived for over 25 years.
Bob was a talented, skilled and incredibly creative carpenter and contractor - a true craftsman. Over the years, he perfected his craft and built many exquisite mansions while in Rhode Island. In his later years, he focused on renovation projects and handmade furniture. Always a perfectionist, any project Bob built was of the utmost quality and beauty. He never stopped perfecting his craft. His other passion was gardening. Over the years, he created visually stunning, beautiful gardens in each and every home he lived.
Bob was known for his hard work ethic, his integrity, his honesty, and his belief that you always must do what is right even in the face of adversity. Those who knew Bob well also knew of his mischievous side and love of life. He positively touched many lives and will be greatly missed, especially by those who loved him dearly.
