Robert L. Noeller, age 77, of Diamondhead, MS, passed away on May 30, 2011 in Gulfport, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Norma Noeller; and two brothers, Douglas Noeller and Jerry Noeller.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Noeller of Diamondhead; four children, Joseph Anthony Noeller (Mary) of Deadwood, SD, Barbara Ann Percevich (Steve) of Hattiesburg, MS, Robert Mark Noeller (Connie) of Houston, TX, and Nancy Leigh O'Connor (Christopher) of Pittsford, NY; six grandchildren, Tina Kay Heinbaugh of Rapid City, SD, Spencer Erikson of Oak Harbor, WA, Tyler Erikson of Lead, SD, Mason Noeller of Monterey, CA, Ryan O'Connor and Caitlyn O'Connor, both of Pittsford, NY; two great grandchildren, Taylon Erikson and Blaine Erikson; a sister, Suzanne Bruntz of Alliance, NE; and a brother, Ted Noeller of Sterling, CO.
Mr. Noeller was born in Central City, South Dakota on April 8, 1934 to Norma and Theodore Noeller. He graduated from Lead High School in 1952 and was employed as an assayor for the Homestake Gold Mine before enlisting in the U.S. Army shortly after graduation. Following his honorable discharge, he attended Black Hills State College in Spearfish and again became a Homestake Gold Mine employee. He became selfemployed in 1959 when he and a partner built the first privately owned campground in the Black Hills, Fish 'N' Fry, and he continued to spend his entire working life as a businessman, having successfully owned and operated the first car dealership in Lead (Toyota), several service stations, drive inns, motels, restaurants, and a Sinclair Bulk Plant in the Lead-Deadwood area before retiring to Mississippi to establish Gulf Coast Arabians, an Arabian horse breeding facility located on Highway 13, north of Wiggins.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD.
