Robert (Mr. Bob) Leeton, Jr., age 82 of Gulfport, died Friday, April 18, 2008 in Gulfport, MS.
Mr. Leeton was born in Columbia, Missouri and has been a resident of Gulfport since 1942. He is a graduate of Gulfport High School, the University of Missouri where he obtained a degree in Chemistry, and Gulf Coast Community College
He was retired as an instructor at Keesler Air Force Base and was also retired from the Pine Hills Nursery in Pass Christian. He was a Camilla expert a master gardener and was a life time member of the Gulfport Camilla Society; member of the Gulfport Garden Club and Rose Society; and several other organizations.
He enjoyed growing plants and teaching others about plants.
He was a Veteran of WWII; and served in the United States Army where he received the Bronze Star Medal for heroic action and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Mr. Bob leaves behind to treasure his memory family and special friends including; Roland and Susan Bobinger and their daughter Tisa and family, David Pitt and family, Les Woodcock and son Leslie, Rhonda Williams and family, Bill and Rose Brooks and family, Mark Garriga and family, Regina Kietzer, Mark Russell and family, Loraine, Billy, Mike, Polly, and Rachael Cuevas. He is also survived by his dog Jim Bob.
Bob loved learning and teaching others.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. from the graveside at the Biloxi National Cemetery with Military Honors.
