Robert Lawrence Ladner, 82, of Long Beach, died Monday, September 10, 2007 in Long Beach.
Mr. Ladner was a native of the Riceville community and remained a lifelong resident of the coast. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and he was a graduate of Mississippi State University. He retired from Civil Service at KAFB and he taught Computer Science at Long Beach High School. Mr. Ladner also worked as a funeral director assistant at Riemann Funeral Homes. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Long Beach where he served as a deacon and also served on several boards and committees. He was a member of Souther Star Masonic Lodge #500, Long Beach. Mr. Ladner enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Sylvand and Ida Shaw Ladner, and 2 sisters, Lora Ladner and Ruby Sellers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Betty Ruth Ladner, his son, Ryan (Amie) Ladner, and Jennifer (David) Fava, all of Long Beach, 3 brothers, Fred (Mary) Ladner, Baton Rouge, LA, Albert (Jean) Ladner, Long Beach, and Claude Ladner, Riceville community, and 4 grandchildren, Reagan, Colton, Lexi, and Cameron.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 11 am Friday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
