Mr. Robert E. Goodson, age 79, resident of Gulfport, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2011.
Mr. Goodson was born in Gulfport and served his country for over 30 years in the U.S. Air Force. After military service, Mr. Goodson worked for the Civil Service and Jefferson Davis Campus of MGCCC. He was always generous with his spirit and will be missed deeply by those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. and Frances Goodson; siblings, John Goodson, Anne Keyes, Anita Johnson, and Emily Turner.
He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Eva Goodson of Gulfport; children, Joseph Randazzo of Browns Mills, NJ, Fred C. Goodson of Delran, NJ, Alfred J. Goodson of Aiken, SC, Elvira Ridgeway of Delran, NJ, Mary Goodson of Memphis, TN, and James Martin of Ocean Springs; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, Becky and Allen Shaw, Jo Ann Creel, Aaron Cuevas and Barbara Cuevas.
The family would like to thank April Hudson and the caregivers at April's Place for their care.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Dobson-Holliman Cemetery, at 2:00 p.m.
