Robert F. Fabiano, age 73, of Gulfport, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Fabiano was educated in the Boston, Massachusetts parochial and public school systems, attaining Hall of Fame status in athletics. He attended Boston College prior to entry into the military for duties during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. He also attained undergraduate and post graduate degrees from University of Southern Mississippi and attended post graduate studies at the Wake Forest School of Law.
He retired from the US Air Force where he taught at Keesler Air Force Base, and where he taught English as a second language at embassies/consulates in Turkey, Greece, Italy, and Belgium. He also retired from Biloxi School System as a teacher of Social Studies, establishing the first Mississippi courses in Law Related Education and coached the award winning mock trial teams.
He was preceded in death by his father, Pasquale, his mother, Catherine; and his sister, Margie Barry.
He is survived by his sons, Mark of Gulfport and Brian of Scottsdale, AZ; and his daughter, Donna Lucchesi of Livermore, CA.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 2:30PM at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
