MSgt Robert V. Dory, USAF, retired, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 in Biloxi.
Mr. Dory had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since 1971. He retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant having served 3 years with the Navy during the Korean War and over 20 years in the Air Force, including service in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also retired from the Mississippi Department of Corrections, working as a Correctional Officer. He enjoyed camping, cooking and eating.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Nancy Jane Dory; parents: William Robert and Minnie Hattie Winkler Dory; sister: Rose Ann Yoder; and brother: Harold Jackson Dory.
He is survived by his children: Susan Ella Cockerham and husband Henry James, Jr. of Denham Springs, LA, and Breanna Dukes of Biloxi, a sister: Lynda Kaye Varney of ID; and 4 grandchildren: William Alexander, Kyla Ashlin, Nancy Jane, & Molly Ann.
Friends may visit from 6-8:00p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2008 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME in Biloxi. The Graveside Service with military honors will be at 9:00a.m., Monday, June 16, 2008 at Biloxi National Cemetery. The obituary may be viewed and guestbook signed at www.riemannfamily.com.
