Robert Elmer Cloyd, a native of Chico, CA., and resident of Ocean Springs, MS., passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, in Ocean Springs at the age of 70 years old.
Known to his family and friends as “Bob”, he was a graduate of Pleasant Valley in Chico, CA, and attended Butte College. He was a skilled handyman with a variety of skills and could fix just about anything and everything. He loved music and sang in many choirs and worship teams throughout the years. He enjoyed woodwork, building things, and most of all spending time with his friends and his family. Bob is a member of the Northwood Church at Ocean Springs Campus. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Hugh and Edna (Harrington) Cloyd; and his two sisters, Nancy Purdue and Sabra Brown.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Melody (West) Cloyd; his children, Susan Scuderi (Ivan), Sean Cloyd, Shelley Taylor (Joe), and Scott Cloyd (Katie); his siblings, Dale Cloyd (Jeri), David Cloyd, and Richard Cloyd (Vanessa); and his grandchildren, Aaron High, Audrey High (Nick), Dylan Cloyd, Julianna Hughes (D.J.), Matteo Scuderi, Aiden Taylor, Alex Scuderi, Devin Taylor, Olivia Taylor, Henry Cloyd, Sofia Scuderi, Walker Cloyd, and Amelia Cloyd; and his greatgrandchildren, Jonathan High, Ngolvict High-Romero; a host of relatives and dear friends.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Northwood Church located at 14281 ONeal Road in Gulfport MS in building 3 from 6p.m. until 8p.m.
