Robert "Bobby" Battles Jr.

Robert “Bobby” Battles Jr., 66 of Gulfport, MS passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023.  He was born on November 3, 1957 in Meridian, MS to the late Robert Battles Sr. and Johnnie Wilkerson.  He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Johnnie Carol Battles; Uncles, Eddie Jones, and Larry Jones; and nephew, Jason Tibbetts.

Bobby was an avid baseball and basketball card collector.  He was a world class collector of a lot of things.  Bobby enjoyed watching Nascar and was the biggest Earnhardt fan and collector.   Bobby loved listening to music.  His fashion sense was very interesting from his white jeans to his tight shorts. 

Bobby was a mechanic by trade and specialized in autobody work.  Him and his brother built and raced Sprint Car’s around the Gulf South.  Bobby had a variety of cars throughout his life.  His prize car was his Fiero’s which he owned 10 of them over the years.  Bobby even fixed and repaired Drone’s which he flew all over.  He was a one of kind individual with a big heart and kindness to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  Bobby will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bobby is survived by his sons, Daniel Steinbach, and Brian (Jess) Battles; grandchildren, Hunter Steinbach, Riley Battles, and Fisher Battles; brother, James Battles; and sister, Teresa Tibbetts; nephews, Chad Tibbetts, and Jesse Battles; nieces, Ashley Fairley.  Bobby also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of friends and extended family.
