Robert G. “Bob” Lane, 83 of Biloxi went to his Lord and Savior on April 1, 2024. Bob was born on August 1, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to the late George & Frances Lane. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly Lane. He was raised in Chicago and graduated from Tilden Tech High School in 1958. Upon graduation of High School he joined the United States Air Force.
Bob served in the United States Air Force for 24 years before retiring. He was an instructor for communications and intelligence. Bob was stationed in Philippines, Japan, and Thailand for his overseas tours. He then came back to the United States and served in San Antonio and for the majority of his career at Keesler Air Force Base.
Bob was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing golf, racquet ball, and bowling. He also liked being in the outdoors and going fishing. After Bob retired he went into the restaurant business and helped operate McElroys Harbor House for many years. He was loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to so many. Bob will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Diane Lane; sons, Jimmy (Denise) Lane, and David (Sandi) Lane; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jon) Helton, Cameron (Brianna) Lane, and Devan (Tara) Lane; brothers, William (Vickie) Lane, Ken (Denise) Lane, Tom Lane, James (Laura) Lane, and Mike (Ramona) Lane. Bob also leaves behind to cherish his memory 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
