Robert """"Bob"""" Bland, 71, of Pass Christian, MS died Friday, August 11, 2006 in Gulfport.
Mr. Bland was a native of Indiana and was a longtime resident of the coast. He retired as an Agent/Broker in the trucking industry and had worked for Keystone Lines for a number of years. He was a member of Southern Star Masonic Lodge #500, Long Beach and a 32nd Degree Mason at Gulfport Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a former member of Caesars Carnival Association, Metairie, LA and reigned as King over one of the parades. He enjoyed race horses and breeding horses.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Bland and his parents, Robert and Vera Bland.
Survivors include his children: William (Terrie) Bland, Slidell, LA, Elaine (Paul) Chauvin, Gretna, LA, Bobby Bland, Pass Christian, Anne (Tony) Mendez, Picayune, Kathleen (John) Riley, Slidell, LA, Jackie Bland, Pass Christian, Robert (Anita) Bland, Long Beach, Holly Slade, Pass Christian, and Eric Bland, Gulfport; his stepsister, Michelle Bland, Saucier; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 15, 2006 from 10 am - 12 noon at Gulf Coast Funeral Home, Three Rivers Rd. Chapel, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Long Beach City Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be conducted at the gravesite.
