Robert (Bob) C. McBee, age 84, passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 in Diamondhead.
Mr. McBee served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked for Dupont for 35 years before retiring in 1985.
Mr. McBee was a life-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the DAV (Disabled Veterans) and Chaplain of the Gulf Coast Purple Heart Association. He attended the Diamondhead Community Church where he and Ginny were aÌ‚â‚Å“Greeters and UshersaÌ‚â‚. He also enjoyed golf with his friends at Diamondhead Country Club.
Mr. McBee was preceded in death by his first wife Ruth McBee; and his parents Earnest and Myrtle McBee. Survivors include his loving wife of 8 years Virginia McBee of Diamondhead; his children, Dr. Robert McBee, Brent and Lynnanne Johnson, Chaundel Johnson, Bruce Spector and Tomy Johnson and his sister, Ellabelle Beeson. He will be deeply missed by his close friends Frisly and Mary Garcia and Jack and Clara Woodruff. Mr. McBee loved his grandchildren Alison McBee of Pittsburgh, PA and Lenora Johnson of Friday Harbor, Washington.
Services will be held Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Arrangements by RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Kiln DeLisle Road.
