Rita Gail Dill, a cherished daughter, sister, loving mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 17, 2023, at the age of 69. She was born in Duckhill, Mississippi, and called Gulfport, Mississippi, her home for many years.
Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bennie Dill; her father, Earl Carr;, and her brother, Danny Carr.
She is survived by her dear mother, Gracie Carr,; and her loving siblings, Nancy Sweeting, Linda Poole, Betty Ladner, Terrell Carr, Clinton Carr, Kathy Easterlin, and Pastor Dan Carr.; Rita's memory lives on through her children, Ben Dill and Kevin Dill, and their families. Together, they provided her with 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Family and faith were the cornerstones of Rita's life. She was a devoted homemaker with a remarkable eye for design. Her talents were particularly evident in her love for flower arranging. Rita lovingly created beautiful floral arrangements, gracing her church and the lives of family and friends on countless special occasions. Her home was a true reflection of her passion for creating warm and welcoming environments, seasonally adorned to uplift the spirits of all who entered.
Rita's commitment to making everything around her beautiful extended to her involvement in Faith Baptist Church, where she dedicated 38 years of her life. She actively participated in various ministries within the church, including the Sign Language ministry, Sunday school teaching, and the Welcome Center ministry. Her truest passion, however, lay in the ministry of soul-winning, where she touched the lives of those around her.
Serving the Lord was paramount in Rita's life, and her dedication to her faith and her family touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her warm smile and unwavering love will be deeply missed but will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate to have known her.
In memory of Rita Gail Dill, may we all strive to embrace the beauty she brought to the world and continue to share her legacy of love, faith, and devotion. Rita will forever be remembered for the grace, love, and beauty she brought into our lives.
A visitation will be held at Faith Baptist church, 8467 Canal Road, Gulfport, MS, Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 10-11am, service will begin at 11:00am, with interment to follow at Allen Cemetery in Long Beach.
