Rita Moran Cuevas

Rita Moran Cuevas, age 80, of Lizana, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011. She has gone to be with the Lord and is no more in pain or sorrow.
Mrs. Cuevas was a lifelong resident of Lizana. She married Aris J. Cuevas, Sr. on February 9, 1948 and had been employed as a cook with Lizana Elementary School and later retired as a cook from the Miramar Nursing Lodge. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Cuevas was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and faithful friend. She loved and was involved in the lives of her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aris J. Cuevas, Sr.; son, Aris ""A.J."" Cuevas, Jr.; parents, Reno and Virginia Moran; and brother, Bud Moran.
Survivors include her sons, Johnny R. Cuevas (Annette W.) and Marvin L. Cuevas (Kathy); daughter-in-law, Brenda G. Cuevas; brothers, Hollis Moran (Shirley) and Russell Moran (Liz); eight grandchildren, Scotty Cuevas, Denita Palumbo (Tom), Bridget Necaise (Randy), Angela Causin (Roger), Susan Guidroz (Nick), Amanda Cuevas, Adam Cuevas and Kristan Cuevas; eight great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Jonah & Natalie Palumbo, Gabrielle, Tara & Bethany Causin, and Johnny & Joseph Guidroz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport. The Service of Celebration will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Wolf River Cemetery.
