James Rickey “Rick” Gaston, age 65, of Gulfport, passed away on December 29, 2019.
Rick was born in Gulfport. He served in the U.S.M.C. and retired from law enforcement where he worked as Warden of the Harrison County Detention Center and later the Warden of Mobile Metro Jail. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and loved fishing and boating.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Gaston and step father Jim Yoder.
He is survived by his children, Wendy Rocha of Gulfport and Chad Gaston of Yakima, Washington; grandchildren, Trey, Olivia, Hartley, and Jax; mother, Patricia Yoder; siblings, Nathan Gaston, Teddy Gaston, Charlie Gaston, Anne Mikish, and Sue Parnes; and an extended family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 6, 2020, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach, with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the mass. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi.
