Richard """"Dick"""" Eugene Tomlinson, Sr., age 79 and a resident of Biloxi, passed away on June 6, 2010, in his home after living a full and wonderful life surrounded by many friends and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Efleta Crow Tomlinson and Roy Carl Tomlinson and a son, Richard Eugene Tomlinson, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Clara Pucheu Tomlinson; two children, Claire Weems and Don Tomlinson; five grandchildren, Julie Toche, Richard Ward, Joseph Weems, Angela Weems, and Kevin Tomlinson and three great-grandchildren, Tré Toche, Jordan Toche, and Palmer Toche; his brother, Raymond Tomlinson and his brother's children.
Richard is retired from the United States Air Force and Civil Service for a total of over 45 years of government service and received numerous commendations throughout his career. He was also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He became a master gardener and volunteered through the Mississippi State Extension Service. Flying was his favorite pastime, and he obtained his private pilot's license to pursue it.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010, from 12:15 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi. A funeral procession will then leave the funeral home and go to Biloxi National Cemetery for a graveside service at 1:30 p.m.
