Richard Fredrick Steffen, 75, passed away Feb 7, 2012 in Gulfport, MS. He was born in Baltimore, MD.
Richard was a member of St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Long Beach, MS. He was also a member of Gulfport Masonic Lodge #422, Gulfport Scottish Rite, and Joppa Shrine. He served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force for 21 yrs, and then worked for 17 yrs at the VAMC, Biloxi.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Agnes Steffen; brothers Mary, George, Joseph, and Guy; sister, Rosalie Nolan; niece, Betty Bestry.
He is survived by his wife of 39 yrs Dorris Merle Steffen; nieces, Georgean Smith (Charles), Brigid Bellone; nephews, Joseph and John; several grand nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sat, Feb 11, 2012 at 2:00 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach. Friends may visit one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas Building Fund. A private burial will be held Feb 13, 2012, at Biloxi National Cemetery. Tributes may be shared with the family at www.riemannfamily.com.
