Richard Rogers

Richard Roy Rogers, age 79, of Gulfport passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008 in Gulfport.
Mr Rogers was born on November 14, 1928 in Haywood County, NC. He grew up in Canton, NC and has been a long time resident of Gulfport since 1965.
He served in the US Army, 82nd Airborne, Airforce, Navy and retired in 1972 from the CB's serving his country in Vietman, Cuba, and many other ports of need. He was a well decorated soldier who loved his country.
Mr. Rogers is preceded in death by his mother, Annie C. Rogers; his father Claude C. Rogers; one brother, Ralph L. Rogers; his wife of 43 years Nellie M. Rogers; two daughters Alice Charles and Diana Smith.
He is survived by his precious 2nd wife, Carolyn B. Rogers, 4 sons, David and his wife Sue, of Mass.; Dale and his wife Debbie of Wiggins, MS, Troy and his wife Sue of Long Beach; and Terry of Biloxi; 3 daughters, Sharon McQueen of Biloxi, Phyllis Rogers of Ashville, NC; Jennie B. Cruse of West Monroe, LA; one brother Troy L. Rogers and wife Marie; grandchildren: Cindy, William, Lynn and Tommy Charles, Kelly Slater, Jerry McQueen and Amy Pritchard, Cherrie Brashiers, Rhonda, Donna and Richard Atkinson; Jared and Jordan Rogers, Amanda Rogers, and Jennifer Cruse; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He loved and enjoyed his family and friends from the Carolina mountains to the Gulf Coast.
Visitaiton will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 3, 2008, at 12:45 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
