Richard """"Bill"""" Rivers, 81, of Pass Christian, died at home surrounded by family on Sunday, December 30, 2007.
Bill was a resident of Pass Christian for the past 17 years. He was a former member of St. Pauls Catholic Church and was a current member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the VFW and the Knights of Columbus.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Annie Rivers; his first wife, Bertha Jean Rivers; daughter, Miriam """"Sissy"""" Rivers; one sister and two brothers.
Bill is survived by his wife, Geraldine Rivers; son, Richard """"Pete"""" Rivers; daughter, Clara Rivers; step-son, Keith Ladner; step-daughters, Pam Hicks and Lisa Ladner; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchildren; sister, Glady Pearl Hunter; and brothers, Omar, Comer and Eddie """"Buddy"""" Rivers.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Sacred Heart, Dedeaux, where friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sacred Heart, Dedeaux.
