Richard Paul “Dickie” Moran, age 77, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on April 27th, 2023, in Gulfport.
Dickie was born in Natchez, MS on June 5th, 1945. He was a graduate of St. Stanislaus College and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1968. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking of LSU. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1968-1969. He retired from Hancock Bank after 27 years of service. Dickie was an avid animal lover, especially his “puppy-human”, Kobe.
Over his lifetime, he belonged to many service organizations including the Make A Wish Foundation of South MS, the Harrison County Heart Association, Gulfport Jaycees, Orange Grove Rotary Club, the Long Beach Food Pantry, and the Windance Property Owners Association. Dickie was for many years a familiar face volunteering at St. John Elementary School in Gulfport. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1583 and a member of Holy Family Parish in Pass Christian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Terah Moran, and H.H. Jones of Gulfport; and his grandson, Hunter Caleb also of Gulfport.
Dickie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ann D. Moran; children, Kimberly (Rodney) Keel, Kelly (Shaun) McKinney, Kyle (Christina) Moran; grandchildren, Ashlie (Joseph) Herbert, Beaux Killeen, Brendon McKinney, Ethan Bennett, Mackenzie McKinney, Tanner McKinney, Hayley (William) Reid, Skyler Moran, Brantley McKinney; and future great grand baby Herbert. Dickie will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be at Holy Family Catholic Church, 22342 Evangeline Rd, Pass Christian, MS, 39571, Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Stanislaus ( https://ststan.com/giving/make-a-gift/ ),Harrison County Humane Society, or the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi Office of Youth Ministry.
