Richard Matthew Lyon, aged 80, of Pass Christian, MS, on February 21, 2025. Richard, a retired SMSgt of the United States Air Force, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Linda Lyon; his children Rick (Teresa), Sean (Mileah), Todd (Julia), and David (Petchie); his beloved grandchildren Chris, Nate, Nick, Kayla, Lyla, Matthew, Zoey, Lilly, and Josie; and great-grandchildren Karissa and Sophia. He is also survived by his sister Lorrie (Steve) Crouch, sister-in-law Lisa (John) Bull, and siblings Vern (Mayo) and Gary (Anita).
He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Mae Baker, and his sister, Sharon Soder.
Born on July 26, 1944, in Davenport, Iowa, Richard earned a Master's degree in History and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force before retiring. After his military service, he continued his career at Ingals and Mississippi Power Company. Richard was an active member of the Highland and Island community and a proud member of the First United Methodist Church of Long Beach, where he found great joy and fellowship.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 3, 2025 at First Methodist Church of Long Beach. Visitation will held from 10 - 11 am in the church.
