Richard Layton

RM1 SS Richard Eugene Layton, US Navy (Ret) of Gulfport, MS, passed away, at the age of 69 on January 10, 2023.

Richard Eugene Layton was born in Greeley Colorado. He was a 22-year Veteran of the US Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Ruth Layton; his siblings, Lester Layton Jr, Thomas Layton, Oliveann Layton and Jack Layton; and his granddaughter, Rebecca Jenkins.

Richard Layton is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Mae Layton; his daughters, Stephanie (Bryan) Jenkins, Hope (Billy) Litchfield; 4 grandchildren, Damien Jenkins, Timothy Litchfield, YN2 Quintin Jenkins and Monica (Samuel) Wanner; 1 great grandson, Caspian Jenkins; brothers and sisters, Raymond Layton, Laurie Layton Reynolds, Harry Layton, Mark Layton, Ruthann Layton Gill and Randy Layton.

In lieu of flowers or memorials, donations may be made in his name to Navy- Marine Corps Relief Society.
