MSgt Richard A. Grimstead, Sr, U.S. Air Force, Ret, age 73, of Gulfport, passed away on March 10, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lee Grimstead, his parents, Walter Robert and Harriet Irene Grimstead, and a brother, Robert Grimstead.
Survivors include his son, Rick Grimstead and his fianceÌ, Christine Fendley, a sister, Selena Gray, his grandchildren, Caley Grimstead, Austin Grimstead, and Michael Fendley, and other relatives and friends.
He was a native of Virginia and lived on the coast over 40 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and later retired as a Master Sergeant with 20 years of service. He then worked as an instructor at KAFB in the Electronics and Avionics Division. Mr. Grimstead loved fishing, hunting, the outdoors, and especially spending time with his family.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, 2016, from 1 pm - 2 pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
