Richard George Taylor, age 90, passed away on December 7, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Taylor and Rena Flannery Beasley; step-father William Beasley; brother, Robert “Pete” Taylor; sister, Joyce Taylor Cain;
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sonae Taylor; children, Sue Alexander (Rick) of Alvaredo, TX, Richard Taylor (Mari) of Roy City, TX, Elizabeth Taylor of Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Mikel Alexander and Dustin Alexander; and two great grandchildren, Jaken Alexander and Mack Alexander.
Richard lived an incredible life. He is a Vietnam Veteran, and served 26 years in the Naval Construction Battalion (Seabees) as a CPO construction mechanic. He and Sonae settled in Mississppi together where they made their long term home and made many memories together, including one of his favorites, dancing. He always had a great story to share with friends and family. He enjoyed bowling, watching old Westerns, NFL games and especially his Dallas Cowboys. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He had a great sense of humor and was always patient and kind. He was one of the classics and will be truly missed by all his family and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. West Jackson County. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 AM at Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. Biloxi, MS.
