Richard G.A. Chase, age 71 of Chunky, Mississippi was lifted gracefully into the Lords arms on March 26th 2022. Richard was born on December 11th 1950 in The Panama Canal Zone to Allan George and Evelyn Patricia Chase.
Since his birth, Richard has been a world traveler. His father, Allan, was in the Army and moved the family to several locations before settling in Tacoma, WA. Shortly after graduation, Richard enlisted into The United States Navy where his adventures in life began. Richard served 31 years with the Navy. He retired in 2001 as a Command Master Chief, the highest rank an enlisted man can achieve. Richard is also well known for his soothing voice, beautiful smile, worldly advice and giant, warm, take all your troubles away hugs. Richard loved traveling in his R.V. to visit his children, family and friends with his wife Lona B. and their co-pilots Dixie and Bubba. Richard loved to say, “Life should be lived to the fullest and death should be a celebration of life.” We will celebrate your life, Richard. Rest easy sailor, your watch here is done.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Lona B. and his brothers, Kenny Chase, Lloyd Chase and David Chase. Richard is survived by his parents, Allan Chase and Evelyn Patricia Chase; his sisters, Emily Chase (Carlos) Quintana, Susan (Jon) Grote and Kay (Brett) Lucas; his children, Richard (Heather) Chase, Robert (Alina) Chase, Richalle (Scott) Close, Ray (Patty) Mariucci, Robert (Donna) Mariucci, John (Megan) Glidden and Robin Mariucci. Richard is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 13900 Mt. Pleasant Rd, Vancleave, MS 39565, with public visitation beginning one hour prior in the church chapel. Burial will follow at the church cemetery
