Richard L. ""Pete"" Allen, Sr, age 69, of Gulfport, was called to his eternal home on December 7, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Myrtle Allen; a sister, Betty Barrett; and his father and mother-in-law, Harold and Inivie Lacy.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy L. Allen of Gulfport; his children, Terri Murphy and her husband, Tommy, of Long Beach and Richie Allen and his wife, Heather, of Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren, Kyle Allen and Clint Allen; and two sisters, Floy Cook of Shawnee, OK and Yvonne Kaletsch and her husband, Harry, of Gulfport.
Pete was a graduate of Long Beach High School, Class of 1960. He was a retired electrician and an avid horseman and gardener. He was a member of BelAire Baptist Church, Gulfport.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the BelAire Baptist Church, Gulfport, with a visitation from Noon until 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Gardens Cemetery, Gulfport.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
