Reverend David Louis Brown

Rev. David Louis Brown, 64, of Saucier, MS, passed away August 31, 2012. Rev. Brown was a member of the United States Navy beginning November, 1965, with an honorable discharge in November, 1971. During this time, he served in the Vietnam War, and was the recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries sustained while saving a fellow soldier, as well as numerous other military awards and medals. He was the pastor at Christian Worship Center of Gulfport, and was a licensed Assembly of God minister. He was predeceased by his father, David Wasson Brown, and his wife of 37 years, Wanda M. Brown.
Rev. Brown is survived by his second wife, Shirlene Cuevas Taylor Brown; 7 children, Heidi (Nathan) Golemon, Shannon (Deanna) Brown, Derek (Meigan) Brown, Danny (Michelle) Brown, Tracee (Kris) Taylor, all of Grand Bay, AL, DeAnna (Mike) Welch of Wiggins, MS, Kimberly (Carl) Wilson of Saucier, MS; 16 grandchildren, Hank (Ariana), Ryan, Jordan, Chase, Charity, Dylan, Devin, Dalys, Emma Grace, Ann Marie, Meagan, Shelby, Clark, Morgan, Mason and Skyler; his mother, Fannie Lou Brown; 3 brothers, Harold Brown of Escatawpa, MS, Eugene Brown of Hurley, MS, Michael Roy Brown of Pascagoula, MS; 5 sisters, Donna Kay Rae of Pontotoc, MS, Ree Pierce, Becky Brown, and Sherry Brown, all of Pascagoula, MS, and Terry Brown of Jackson, MS; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He wore many titles, excelling at them all....pastor, counselor, servant of God, son, husband, father, grandfather (Paw-Paw & Pop-Pop), brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. All who knew him loved him, and he will be greatly missed.
He was actively involved with Cruisin' the Coast, and restored many antique/classic cars, winning numerous awards for his meticulous detailed work on each one. Any car people, please drive your antique and/or custom cars as a tribute to Rev. Brown.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday at 11 AM, at Christian Worship Center of Gulfport, MS. Funeral services (officiated by Bro. Scooter Duncan) will be Monday at 1 PM at Christian Worship Center of Gulfport, MS, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 12 PM. There will also be funeral services (officiated by Bro. Alton Stokes) on Tuesday at 12 PM at Serenity Funeral Home, Theodore, AL, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 10 AM. Burial will take place at Serenity Memorial Gardens, Theodore, AL immediately following the service, with military honors to be performed.
