Renee Smith

  Renee Smith, 64 of Diamondhead, MS formerly of Charleston, MS passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport.  She was born November 12, 1959, in Arkansas to the late Jerry Wayne Polk and Mary Ann Dennington.  She is preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Grace D. Hubbard; and sister, Christie Adams.

   Renee loved to cook and was always making something in the kitchen.  She loved crafting and making crochet which included making baby blankets for family and friends.  Renee attended high school in Charleston, MS.  She met her husband during high school, and they resided in Charleston, MS for over 30 years.  Later her and Jimmy moved to the Gulf Coast and resided on the beach for last 7 years.  She loved to take trips and loved riding the motorcycle with her husband.  She always remembered her trip to Disney World and Alaska.  Her love was her family and especially her grandchildren and was the caretaker for so many, especially anyone in need.  She thoroughly enjoyed listening to her grandson Bryce play guitar and sing.  Renee will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

   Renee is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Jimmy Smith; children, Kevin (Misty) Smith, Colby (Paul) Blackwell; grandchildren, Micheal Smith, Justin Smith, James Carter, Braxston Blackwell, Bryce Blackwell, and Jayson Smith; and soon to be great granddaughter; siblings, Jackie Polk, Leslie Thompson, and Troy Snider.  Renee also leaves behind to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

   Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.  The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm.
