Mr. Remus O. Perkinson, Jr., age 74, and a resident of Pass Christian, died in Gulfport on Thursday, August 24, 2006.
Mr. Perkinson was born on November 29, 1931 in Henderson, North Carolina and had been a resident of Pass Christian for over five years. Mr. Perkinson was retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service, also retired from AES Corporation, and Occidental Petroleum. Mr. Perkinson was a member of golf clubs in Pass Christian and Ft. Smith, Arkansas and was a member of Masonic Lodge #5 in Madison, Wisc.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Huff, sister, Pauline Sanders and his parents, Remus and Effie Mae Perkinson.
Survivors include his wife, Elsa M. Perkinson of Pass Christian; one son, Michael W. Perkinson of D'Iberville; a brother and his wife, Bobby L.(Wanda) Perkinson of Alcoa, TN; grandchildren, Schuyler Van Voast, Brooke Perkins, Ivey Van Voast, Leslie Perkins and Nicholas Huff; great grandchildren, Scarlett Van Voast and Kayla Sandra Guthas; niece, Dianne Riley.
Friends may call on Sunday, August 27, 2006 from 12 until 2 at the Three Rivers Road Chapel of Gulf Coast Funeral Homes in Gulfport.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
