Relda Faye Ortega, age 91, passed away on January 18, 2015 at her Santa Fe home. She was born in Huttig, Arkansas on September 10, 1923 to Will and Velma Cobb.
Relda is preceded in death by her brothers, Cecil Cobb, John Allen Cobb, Willie Earl Cobb; sisters, Bethel Cobb Manning, Georgia V. Ladner, Frances V. Jinks; son, Daniel Ortega; daughters, Loris J. Chapman, Anna Ruth Salinas; son-in-law, Manuel L. Salinas; granddaughter, Danetta J. Ortega. She is survived by her brothers, Melvin ""Buddy"" Lamb and Jimmy Lamb; granddaughters, Pasty Bybee (Gilbert Valdez Jr.), Roberta Nylund (Mark Nylund), Relda Jo Fallis (William Fallis), Karen Ann Chapman, Teresa Chapman; grandson, Manuel Salinas Jr. (Rosemary Salinas) nephew Kevin Ladner (Cindy Ladner); 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Relda loved landscaping. She has a green thumb and loved to grow plants. She especially loved to be outdoors.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. from Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
