Rebecca """"Becky/Becca"""" Rae Fellows Thompson, age 83 and a resident of Biloxi, died on September 1, 2008, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Thompson was born on June 30, 1925 in Colorado Springs, CO, and grew up in Tulsa, OK. She married Rodney Stewart Thompson on January 9, 1944.
Becky embraced her life in the Air Force and treasured her life-long friends who became family that she met at duty stations.
Becky was involved in Air Force Officer's Wives Clubs at the many duty stations she and Rod were assigned, including: Travis AFB, CA; Metz, France; Minot AFB, ND; Clark AFB, Philippines, and Keesler AFB, Biloxi.
Becca always had a passion for golf and bridge. After retirement in Biloxi, she was actively involved in numerous civic organizations including but not limited to Sunkist Country Club, Gulf Coast Symphony Guild, Gulf Coast Rock Club and several bridge clubs.
Mrs. Thompson is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Stewart Thompson; her son, Randall Fellows Thompson; her parents, Ray Stanley Fellows & Blanche Gertrude Johnson; her brother, Ray Stanley Fellows, Jr.; half-brother, Charles Ray Fellows; and half-sister, Anna Mae Sieck.
She is survived by her children: Rodney Stewart Thompson, Jr. of Houston, TX and his wife, Judith; Margaret Ann Thompson of North Richland Hills, TX; her grandchildren: Charles Crews of Baytown, TX; Kathleen Thompson and her husband, Jeremy Johnson, of Grapevine, TX; Kimberly Thompson Miller and her husband, Nate Miller, of Tonawanda, NY; her great grandchildren: Owen Johnson; Joah, Micah, and Isaiah Miller and many other loving family members and friends.
The family wishes to extend love and gratitude to the many dear friends who loved and supported Becky, and to extend a very special thanks to the staff at Garden Park Hospital in Gulfport for their caring support of Becky and family during her hospitalization.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi. Friends are invited to visit from 10:30 a.m until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a Veterans organization, an animal-aid organization, or the Mississippi Humane Society.
