Rebecca Lynn "Becky" Beatty, age 39 of Gulfport, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019.
Becky was a 1997 graduate of Harrison Central High School. She began her employment at the young age of 16 as a fry-cook/server/cashier at the Taco Sombrero on Hwy. 49, in what was then the unincorporated community of Orange Grove (now Gulfport). She also worked at Hill Limb and Brace. She then attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for a semester of basic studies, but with an elective course in Medical Coding. The latter was a major consideration in her selection as a Coder with Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. While there she advanced to Medical Billing, a role in which she excelled and proved herself to be a vital asset, and one in which she contributed significantly to increased revenue for the Hospital. Becky loved her job, but primarily because of the harmony and deep friendships she nurtured with her co-workers, whom she considered to be family.
If there was one thing Becky loved, it was having fun (who doesn't?) Becky's fun-formula was (1), to be outside, (2) have something motorized, (3) add libations, (4) add as many good friends as you possibly can (5) good, loud music. Mix, shake, stir in laughter (and a prank or two), and live it up! She enjoyed painting and was surprisingly good at it. She attended quite a few evening painting sessions with her close friends.
Becky was preceded in death by her grandparents, CMSGT (USAF Ret.)Claude (Bud) and Ruth (Peterson) Danks, and Mr. Robert Forrest and Martha (Fisher) Beatty; and brother, Scott Forrest Beatty.
She is survived by her parents, MSgt (USAF Ret.) Robert P. and Deborah K. (Danks) Beatty; her niece, Hannah Jewel Beatty; her nephew, Garrison Cole Beatty; her former step-son, Gage Necaise; her former step-daughter, Jettie Mae Necaise; her six aunts; and 11 cousins.
Becky was a very gregarious woman, and the most loyal friend anyone could ever hope to have. She loved to laugh, and make others laugh. She was adventuresome, and encouraging , as well as inspiring. She loved her family and friends deeply and would defend and protect them at any cost. The world is poorer in love and character without her. She was truly one-of-a-kind and will be missed and mourned by all who knew her.
The family requests that in lieu of plants or flowers that mourners donate to the charity of their choice; there are so many deserving/worthwhile choices in dire need. Becky would have supported them all, given the financial means to do so.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Gulfport, with a visitation for family and friends from 12:00 PM until the service.
