Raymond Hall Twombly, Jr., age 83, of the Magnolia Community, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS.
Mr. Twombly was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Hall Twombly, Sr. and Alice Young Twombly; and his sister, Barbara A. Symonds.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ingeborg Serfert Twombly of the Magnolia Community; daughter Judith Ann Hierstein and husband Paul of the Magnolia Community; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
He served his country during WWII and the Korean War in the United States Navy and Air Force. Together, he and his wife enjoyed traveling to Maine and North Carolina; fishing, boating, hunting, gardening, and feeding tropical fish, wild birds and squirrels.
""Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance."" Acts 2:28.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
